Maintenance Assistant – AC by Marriott Inverness
This position is based on a full-time contract.
Gross Salary: competitive
The Maintenance Assistant supports the Maintenance Technician, responsible for guest and staff safety, and the upkeep of the hotel’s structure, systems, and equipment. Tasks include repairs and cleaning. You will assist in applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems, ensuring facilities are tidy and functional.
The ideal candidate will have experience and solid technical knowledge, and be a dynamic, responsible team player who takes pride in delivering outstanding customer service in line with AC Hotels' standard operating procedures.
The responsibilities of the Maintenance Assistant include, but are not limited to, assisting the Maintenance Technician with:
1. Managing and executing all due diligence actions in Health & Safety
2. Maintaining physical and electronic records of all due diligence and certificates
3. Leading the hotel’s Health & Safety Committees
4. Responsible for all Planned and Preventative Maintenance: bedrooms, plant rooms, equipment, etc.
5. Managing the department’s budget
6. Liaising directly with Contractors and Suppliers
7. Completing Risk Assessments
8. Conducting staff Training such as H&S, Manual Handling, Fire Panel, and Evacuation
9. Performing minor repairs such as lighting, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting & decorating
10. Cleaning up after works and maintaining all areas clean and safe
11. Executing weekly fire alarm, sprinklers, water tests
12. Operating technical systems (such as BMS, HVAC) and hotel systems (such as Opera, GXP)
13. Responding to staff and guest requests
14. Recording incidents, accidents, RIDDOR
15. Maintaining green areas
16. Recording energy meter readings
Qualifications and Skills Required
1. Proven knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
2. Proven knowledge of PPM: bedrooms, plant rooms, fire and life safety
3. Proactive and well-organized; able to work independently and as part of a team
4. Dexterity and physical stamina
5. Friendly and professional demeanor, with natural hospitality
6. Good communication skills and fluency in English
