We are looking for an enthusiastic Community Paediatrician, with full GMC registration, or working towards CCT or CESR at the time of interview, with broad training and experience in Paediatrics / Community Child Health. Applicants should have the ability to demonstrate a flexible approach and attitude to the delivery of services.

Evidence of experience and qualities in the following areas is essential:-

* Experience in safeguarding medicals and in ADHD and Autism assessment and Management
* Experience in ADHD and Autism assessment and Management.
* Experience in safeguarding medicals
* Evidence of participation in clinical audit and understanding role of audit in improving medical practice
* Understanding of clinical risk management and clinical governance
* Ability to apply research outcomes to clinical practice
* Experience in departmental teaching

Main duties of the job

The Community Paediatric Service in Lincolnshire is part of a combined Children's Service provided by United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust. The Trust is responsible for the provision of a comprehensive range of services to the local population of 680,000.

The Community Paediatric Service is part of the family health division and 9 consultants (including this post) provide a secondary care consultant led service delivered by experienced doctors trained in paediatrics and child health with specialist skills in:-

* Child Development
* Childhood Disabilities
* Safeguarding Children
* Learning disabilities
* Neurodevelopmental problems- Autism/ADHD
* Neurodisability
* SUDIC
* Adoption work
* End of Life care clinical support

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

* Full GMC registration
* On Specialist Register for speciality or working towards CCT or CESR

Desirable

* Sub speciality recognition in Community Child Health or Paediatric Neurodisability
* Postgrad Diploma in Paediatric Neurodisability

Experience

Essential

* Broad training and experience in paediatrics/community child health
* Experience in ADHD and Autism assessment and Management
* Experience in safeguarding medicals

Desirable

* Previous Participation in SUDIC rotas

Skills and Qualities

Essential

* Commitment to team approach and multi-disciplinary working
* Good written and oral communication skills
* Ability to work independently
* Ability to demonstrate a flexible approach and attitude to the delivery of services and working pattern
* Ability to demonstrate effective team leadership skills

Desirable

* Competent user of MS Office
* Experience of using SystmOne

Other Criteria

Essential

* Experience of clinic audit
* Understanding of clinical risk management and clinical governance
* Ability to apply research outcomes to clinical practice
* Commitment to participating in and understanding of the management process
* Ability to meet the travel requirements of the post
