Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to residents in our care home. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead and supervise a team effectively. This role is vital in ensuring that our residents receive the highest standard of care while maintaining their dignity and independence.
Duties
* Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
* Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
* Supervise and mentor junior staff members, fostering a supportive team environment.
* Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and any changes in their condition.
* Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
* Participate in training sessions and continuous professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
* Ensure that all health and safety regulations are adhered to within the care home environment.
* Drive residents to appointments or activities as required, ensuring their safety during transport.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a senior care role or similar position within a care home setting is essential.
* Supervising experience with the ability to lead a team effectively is highly desirable.
* Strong understanding of care plans and the ability to implement them accurately.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a compassionate approach towards residents.
* Proficiency in IT systems for record keeping and communication purposes.
* A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting residents when necessary.
