Senior Finance Business Partner – £700–£850/day (negotiable)Location: Birmingham (Hybrid)Contract: Interim (Until February 2026)Industry: Transport & Logistics (Confidential Client)Start Date: ASAPOverviewGTS Transportation is supporting a major client in the transport and logistics sector with the appointment of an experienced Senior Finance Business Partner on an interim basis through to February 2026.This business is currently undergoing a strategic transition ahead of a planned move to government ownership. This role will be a key commercial finance contact during this critical period, providing financial insight, strategic challenge, and readiness support across the organisation as it aligns to public sector governance, reporting, and accountability standards.Key Responsibilities
* Partner with senior operational and commercial stakeholders to drive performance and financial transparency
* Support the CFO in aligning financial strategy with the requirements of public sector ownership
* Lead scenario modelling and long-term planning to support transition milestones
* Contribute to the preparation of financial materials for government-level reporting and scrutiny
* Develop and enhance internal financial reporting and governance frameworks
* Act as a key liaison between finance and programme teams involved in the transition process
Candidate Requirements
* Proven experience in senior finance business partnering roles, ideally with exposure to government, public sector transitions, or regulated environments
* Commercially astute, with a strong understanding of both private sector dynamics and public accountability
* Demonstrated involvement in organisational change or ownership transitions
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
* Based within reach of Birmingham and open to hybrid working

* Day Rate: £700–£850 (negotiable, outside IR35)
