Childcare Solicitor - Local Authority
Location: Blackpool (Hybrid or Remote Working Available)

CRA Consulting is working in partnership with a well-regarded Local Authority to recruit an experienced Childcare Solicitor to join its established Legal Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive with substantial experience in public childcare law to join a supportive and collaborative team handling a varied and complex caseload.
The Role
You will manage your own caseload of public and private childcare matters, providing high-quality legal advice and representation to the Council. The role offers exposure to complex and challenging work, including:
* Care proceedings and public childcare matters
* Advocacy in Family Proceedings Courts, Magistrates' Courts and County Courts
* Advising Social Workers, Managers and Senior Stakeholders
* Drafting legal documentation and court applications
* Judicial Review matters where required
* Instructing and working alongside Counsel
* Supporting and mentoring junior legal colleagues
About You
* Be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive
* Have substantial experience in childcare law
* Possess strong advocacy skills and court experience
* Be confident managing a busy caseload independently
* Have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Local Government experience is desirable but not essential
Membership of the Law Society Children's Panel would be advantageous.
