Offer description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to join us in the Kent Clinical Neuropsychology Service for Stroke. This post is to work in the Thanet area (Margate & Ramsgate).

The role is a community position involving specialist neuropsychological assessment, cognitive rehabilitation interventions, and psychological therapy. You will support stroke survivors, their families and carers, working closely with colleagues in the Community Neurorehabilitation Teams.

The post is based at Gregory House in Canterbury, co‑located with other colleagues in the service. The trust supports hybrid/flexible working models. You will work closely with a Principal Clinical Psychologist who will provide supervision and informal support. The post would suit someone with previous neuropsychology experience, but we would also consider newly qualified candidates or those wishing to move across from another specialty.

The Kent Clinical Neuropsychology Service has a strong rehabilitation focus and staff are interested in a wide range of therapeutic models, including ACT, CFT, Narrative Therapy and Systemic Family Therapy approaches.

The service is committed to ongoing training and professional development and is linked with the Canterbury Christ Church Clinical Psychology training course.

Main duties of the job

* Provide systematic specialist clinical neuropsychology services to stroke survivors and their families and carers in the Thanet locality.
* Conduct high‑quality direct (assessment and therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory and evaluative) specialist neuropsychological interventions, exercising autonomous judgment and taking substantial professional responsibility.
* Ensure clinical effectiveness of practice and service delivery by undertaking research and development activities relevant to the service area.
* Work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team with the local Community Neurorehabilitation Team.
* Provide regular training placements for trainee clinical psychologists in clinical neuropsychology.
