Building Services Engineer
Location: Central London and surrounding urban areas
Salary: up to £44,000 depending on experience, plus overtime and callout
Hours: 41.25 hours a week
Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance, servicing and reactive maintenance across multiple client sites
* Respond to call-outs during normal working hours and participate in an out-of-hours emergency rota
* Communicate clearly with clients, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure smooth service delivery
* Liaise with the internal helpdesk and administration teams
* Maintain accurate job reports, log books and documentation
* Keep Contracts Managers informed of job progress and site issues
* Attend sites punctually, presented professionally and wearing appropriate PPE
Qualifications & Experience
* City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
* Time-served mechanical or maintenance engineer (apprenticeship preferred)
* Full UK driving licence
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Must reside within one hour of Central London during peak travel times
Knowledge & Competencies
* Strong knowledge of M&E building services
* Experience with HVAC plant including air conditioning, boilers, controls, heating and ventilation systems
* Understanding of Legionella control
* Good working knowledge of health and safety regulations

* Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
* Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
* Confident in diagnosing faults and making informed repair decisions
