Our client is a leading manufacturer of Paper Bags, they are currently looking for a No1 Flexo Press Operator to join their production team. You will be responsible for the operation of a Uteco 8 Colour Flexographic Press to produce and convert various raw materials, mainly paper into finished printed products. Responsible for meeting customer requirements while compliant to company standards for quality and job limits.
Key Responsibilities:
Adjusts printing plates, pressure rolls and machine settings to achieve optimal print quality
Inspects finished prints for clarity, colour accuracy, compliance with specifications, and visible defects using designated test methods and equipment
Reviews job orders to confirm production details, including print quantities, timelines, stock requirements, colours and colour sequencing
Selects, installs, and secures printing plates and cylinders in machines as per job specifications
Monitors press operations to maintain consistent performance, identify malfunctions, and carry out necessary adjustments
Runs equipment at designated speeds to ensure proper ink coverage, alignment and registration
Load, position, and adjusts raw materials for printing
Monitor and manages ink viscosity
Mix and tests inks and varnishes in line with material type and job specifications
Cleans, maintains, and lubricates presses and components using appropriate tools and solvents
Removes printed materials from presses and transfers them to storage or finishing areas
Promotes a safe and efficient working environment within the production area
Ensures strict adherence to quality control processes and actively contributes to internal audit programs
Records daily time, material usage, and production data in the company's management system
Carries out routine quality, health, safety, and environmental checks to maintain compliance with regulations and company policies
Champions best practices in sustainability, workplace safety, and continuous improvementRequirements:
1-2 years of relevant printing experience preferred
High school diploma or equivalent (higher education a plus)
Strong basic mathematical skills
Demonstrates a solid work ethic, effective time management, troubleshooting ability, attention to detail, and a positive attitude
Capable of monitoring print production processes, materials, and equipment while assessing quality through inspection and measurement
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Possesses strong organisational, planning, and decision-making skills
Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams, remain adaptable, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
