An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join the Adult Community Speech and Language Therapy team in Cambridgeshire as Team Lead. In this role, the post holder will work independently to provide highly specialist input across outpatient clinics, home visits, and community hospital wards, delivering expert assessment and intervention for adults with complex communication and swallowing needs.
Alongside clinical responsibilities, the post holder will oversee a small team of therapists and clinical assistants within the Cambridgeshire or Huntingdon locality, ensuring high standards of care and professional development. There may also be scope for the successful candidate to continue to work with a specialist caseload relating to their prior experience, or to explore and develop a new area of specialism, offering both leadership and growth opportunities within a supportive and dynamic team.
Main duties of the job
1. To independently assess, diagnose and develop and implement highly specialist care programmes for patients with Speech, Language, Voice and swallowing needs in the in-patient/day rehab/outpatient and domiciliary setting
2. To contribute to the prioritisation and triage of patients within clinical pathways
3. The post holder will work as a team lead, providing line management, appraisal and supervision and also overseeing the allocation of work for the team.
