Role Overview The school is seeking a professional and approachable Receptionist to become the first point of contact for visitors, students and parents. This is a key role within the school, requiring excellent communication skills and a calm, organised approach. The successful candidate will ensure the reception area runs smoothly while providing administrative support to the wider school office team. Working in a busy environment, the Receptionist must be able to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times. Key Responsibilities • Acting as the first point of contact for visitors, parents and external agencies • Managing incoming phone calls and directing enquiries to the appropriate staff members • Greeting visitors and ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed for site access • Maintaining the reception area to ensure it remains organised and welcoming • Supporting staff with general administrative tasks and office duties • Managing incoming and outgoing post and deliveries • Updating visitor logs and maintaining accurate records • Supporting attendance procedures and communicating with parents regarding absences • Assisting with student enquiries throughout the school day • Coordinating messages between staff, students and parents • Supporting school events by assisting with communication and logistics • Maintaining confidentiality when handling student or staff information The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will have a friendly and professional approach, with the ability to create a positive first impression for visitors and members of the school community. They will demonstrate strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Clear communication and the ability to remain calm in busy situations are essential. The successful candidate will enjoy working with young people and be committed to contributing to a positive school environment.
