Holy Rood is a Catholic secondary school with a roll of 1170 pupils, located in the conservation village of Duddingston, east of Holyrood Park. The school moved into a new building in August 2009. It serves a large catchment area with pupils drawn from 25 primary schools due to parental choice. The school emphasizes a smooth transition from primary to secondary education, ensuring pupils are well supported.
The school boasts a dedicated and creative teaching and support staff, committed to providing high-quality learning experiences. Salaries are in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
This position involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate must join or update their PVG Scheme membership. Candidates with recent UK or overseas residence may require additional checks. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory pre-employment checks.
