Information : Position: HR Advisor Duration: Permanent & Full-Time Location: Based between South-East London & Central London Offices (with opportunity to travel to national contracts) Pay: Competit ive, plus annual bonus & company benefits Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:00 (flexibility required as per needs of the business) Competencies & Experience: At least 3 recent years' experience in an HR/ER advisory role, leading on employee relations cases including performance management, capability, absence, investigations, and disciplinary processes. Good up to date knowledge of employment law and best practice solutions Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills. Exposure to confidential and highly sensitive subject matter To play a significant role in building and maintaining a positive and respectful work environment. Previous in-depth knowledge of employee relations and possess a real passion for working on multiple complex cases through to resolution. Independent worker: managing and prioritising deadlines and then delivering results and solutions. Adaptability skills - enthusiastic in driving change and innovation, strong credibility, professionalism, and ability to influence at a senior level. Commercially focused and service-driven while balancing a genuine desire to enhance the overall employee experience. Brand awareness CIPD qualified preferred but not essential. Responsibilities include: People Management: Provide direct hands-on support to support Supervisors/Managers on a range of HR and Employment Law issues throughout the entire Employee Lifecycle, in line with current legislation, best practice and company process. To resolve issues such as supporting the managers with disciplinary and grievance proceedings when required. Ensure all disciplinary and grievance details are documented and filed in the individual's personnel file. Identify and implement improvements in employee relations matters, in liaison with the HR Management team. Facilitate on site HR surgeries, staff forums and welfare meetings as required. Keeping up to date with all relevant legislation, current and proposed and carry out research on any HR and/or Employment Law matters as required. Manage maternity/paternity parental arrangements for site-based staff in accordance with company policies and legislation. Manage flexible working arrangements for staff in accordance with company policies and legislation. Manage the absence procedure in accordance with company policies and procedures. Arrange referrals for specialist advice, if any, when required. Support colleagues through their career journey, mapping out developmental pathways, skills enhancements and professional qualifications TUPE: Facilitate the smooth transfer of staff during contract mobilisations in accordance with the Transfer of Undertaking (Protection of Employment) Regulations (TUPE) Obtain Employee Liability Information for all employees transferring into the business, in line with TUPE regulation. Provide Employee Liability Information for all employees transferring out of the business under TUPE regulations. Prepare relevant documentation for all incumbent employees transferring to the Company in the event of a TUPE transfer. Manage the transfer of staff for new business conducting TUPE consultations for all incumbent and exiting CIS employees in the event of a TUPE transfer. Ensure all TUPE information is documented and shared with relevant departments (Payroll, Operations etc.) Employee Wellbeing Be an advocate for employee wellbeing. Providing support, advise and sign posting colleagues through internal support schemes and external EAP providers if required. Regularly visit our site-based teams, providing employee wellbeing, culture alignment, ensuring all CIS colleagues feel valued and belong. Organise and promote employee engagement initiatives throughout your business areas. Be a custodian of colleague experience and partner with the Leadership team to positively impact engagement and retention rates. Administration: Manage the exit of staff from the organisation by acknowledging resignations or managing the dismissal or redundancy process. Ensure Payroll is aware of any potential leavers including TUPE transferees. Ensure that the administration of all HR systems is maintained to meet legislation and company requirements. Provide statistical information including KPI's for the Senior Management monthly report. General: Ensure over governance of all HR related matters for your portfolio. Be an active member in driving best practice innovation and HR practices throughout the business. Train and lead all new managers on HR processes and people management practices within your portfolio. Support the resourcing and onboarding team when required. Preparation of HR reports within the specific timeframe and attending internal and external meetings when required. Represent HR department at working groups if and when required. Be an active team member in Head Office ensuring that all tasks are carried out in an effectively and efficiently in accordance with Company, ISO 9001 and Employment Legislation requirements. Deal with site-based staff welfare issues in a professional and timely manner in accordance with Company standards and Employment Legislation when required. Quality and Environmental Responsibilities: Ensure that all tasks are carried out effectively and efficiently in accordance with Company standards and CIS Integrated Management System. CIS staff should be aware of the importance of limiting and reducing our reliance on non-renewable energy and other raw materials. All members of staff should reduce the amount of waste produced and use the recycling facilities available in the workplace for the disposal of all recyclable waste. You are responsible for raising any concerns or improvement suggestions in relation to the quality of our services and our impact on the environment.
