Job Description
We are seeking dedicated, patient and motivated SEN Teaching Assistants / Education Support Workers to work at a Sixth Form College in Leicester on a full-time and long-term basis. This role is ideal for anyone passionate about helping young people with additional needs succeed in a post-16 setting.
�? The role at a glance
You'll be supporting learners aged 16-19 with a range of special educational needs, helping them access learning, build confidence and develop essential life and study skills. Your support will play a key role in their academic progress and personal development.
?? What you'll be doing
* Providing 1:1 and small-group support for students with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties.
* Assisting in classroom, workshop and vocational sessions.
* Encouraging independence, communication and social development.
* Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff and external professionals.
* Supporting progress towards EHCP targets.
* Creating a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.
�? What we're looking for
* Experience supporting young people with SEN (education, care, youth work or similar backgrounds welcome).
* A calm, empathetic and adaptable approach.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
* Ability to tailor support to individual needs.
* A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their goals.
* A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English, Maths and Science - essential for this role.
