We have a new and exciting opportunity available for an experienced stitcher to join our latest Barrie knitwear site in Leicester. Reporting to our training manager this is a brilliant opportunity to help us develop a stitching team to increase our output capacity overall as a business. First and foremost, we are looking for people who have the desire and commitment to succeed. However, we are looking for experienced people who can help us grow and refine this assembly function in Leicester. In addition, there is a progression opportunity to develop into a team leader or trainer as we look to recruit trainee stitchers in the near future. About Barrie Knitwear? The market and landscape are fast-moving and growing which is creating new opportunities. What will you be doing? Perform quality checks on products throughout the assembly process to ensure they meet company standards whilst being as efficient and productive as possible Operate sewing machines to stitch premium garments Select garments and/or bundles in accordance with instructions Collect correct ribbons, zips, and threads from store Conduct on-going visual inspection of ribbons, zips and garments and advise if problems are identified Attach ribbons and zips to garments using the correct colour of thread Select appropriate threads, needles, and other sewing materials Maintain a clean and organized work area Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and deadlines Ensure that Health and Safety requirements are understood and adhered to What will you bring to the role? Proven experience as a Stitcher or similar role in a manufacturing environment Proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines. Strong knowledge of sewing techniques and garment construction. Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Ability to read and interpret technical documents and instructions. Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
