GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a compassionate and inclusive school in Sheffield, S12. As an SEMH TA, you will play a key role in supporting students with SEMH needs, helping them overcome challenges, and enabling them to engage fully in their learning. Responsibilities as an SEMH Teaching Assistant: Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs. Implement behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies. Build positive relationships with students to foster engagement and academic progress. Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to provide personalised support. Contribute to creating a nurturing, inclusive, and safe school environment. Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant: Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is desirable. Strong interpersonal, communication, and de-escalation skills. Patience, resilience, and a commitment to supporting students through challenges. A valid, enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply). A CV covering the last 10 years of employment history, with any gaps clearly explained.
