Job Summary
An experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist is invited to join the GSTT Hepatobiliary (HPB) CNS service within the GI HPB team. The role involves working alongside a multi‑professional clinical and medical team to deliver care for patients with liver, pancreatic, biliary and gallbladder disorders, both malignant and benign.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate care for patients with suspected HPB cancers and act as a point of contact and source of information.
* Manage surveillance and care for patients on long‑term HPB‑related follow‑up (e.g., pancreatic side‑branch IPMN, gallbladder polyps).
* Prepare and manage HPB multidisciplinary meetings (MDMs) for both benign and malignant conditions, including documentation, patient follow‑up, and booking of procedures and appointments.
* Support Gastro and Upper GI surgical clinics and liaise with other Trusts and King’s College Hospital regarding referrals.
* Advise, support and train staff across the trust regarding HPB conditions and management; deliver high‑quality educational sessions to meet ward staff needs.
* Promote evidence‑based practice and contribute to the development of national guidelines and protocols, ensuring consistency, relevance and reliability across regions.
