Factory FSQA Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced Factory FSQA Manager to take ownership of food safety, quality, and compliance within our manufacturing operation.
This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring robust quality management systems are in place, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining the highest standards across all technical processes.
The Role
As Factory FSQA Manager, you will:
* Oversee all aspects of on-site quality assurance, from raw material intake through to finished product dispatch.
* Lead and manage the quality team, allocating resources and guiding technical initiatives.
* Ensure the Quality Management System is fully implemented and maintained in line with BRC standards.
* Maintain strict document control across all policies, procedures, and factory documentation.
* Drive continuous improvement across product specifications, master data, and operational procedures.
* Lead HACCP verification and validation, ensuring effective CCP monitoring and team competency.
* Promote a right-first-time culture through auditing and performance monitoring.
* Conduct risk assessments and approve operational and product-related concessions.
* Manage environmental monitoring programmes and hygiene validation schedules.
* Plan and oversee internal audits, ensuring timely close-out of non-conformances.
* Work closely with production and engineering teams to uphold food safety and quality standards.
* Support internal and external audits, traceability exercises, and product recalls where required.
* Analyse site performance data to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
* Ensure effective handling of customer complaints and non-conformance investigations.
* Manage relationships with external service providers (e.g. pest control, calibration, waste).
* Oversee equipment calibration and ensure records are accurate and up to date.
* Control the quality budget, including purchase order approvals and tracking.
* Partner with HR to ensure training and development needs are met across the team.
* Support new equipment commissioning, hygiene inspections, and production trials.
* Lead allergen management and promote a strong food safety culture across site.
* Manage team administration including holidays and attendance systems.
* Act as a key point of contact for food safety concerns, escalating where necessary.
About You
We are looking for someone who brings:
* At least 5 years’ experience in a quality or technical role within food manufacturing.
* Strong knowledge of quality systems, food safety standards, and compliance requirements.
* Proven leadership and team management capability.
* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
* A proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to influence across departments.
