We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Upper Key Stage 2 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Accrington from 23rd February 2026.
This role is ideally suited to an experienced teacher with strong Year 6 knowledge, who is confident in raising attainment and supporting pupils through targeted intervention work.
The Role
Mornings:
Deliver targeted intervention sessions for Year 6 pupils
Focus on closing gaps in learning and preparing pupils for end-of-key-stage assessments
Use assessment data effectively to plan and deliver high-impact support
Afternoons:
Teach foundation subjects to Year 6
Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons in line with the National Curriculum
Promote creativity, enquiry, and independent learning
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Be a qualified teacher with QTS
Have proven experience in Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6
Demonstrate strong subject knowledge in English and Maths intervention
Have a clear understanding of assessment, progress tracking, and pupil outcomes
Be confident managing behaviour and maintaining high expectations
Be committed to inclusive practice and supporting all learners
Work effectively as part of a team and communicate well with staff and parents
