At Chivas Brothers, our 1,600-strong team across 27 sites is committed to upholding the heritage of Scotch and ensuring its sustainable future, as well as opening it up to new audiences across the globe. The scope of Operations stretches from Procurement through conversion (distillation and maturation) and manufacturing (or bottling) to all the downstream Supply Chain activities until the final product is delivered. In addition, Operations play a very active role in Innovation, Talent Development and Operational Risk Management. The Bottling Operations and Warehousing teams are based across three factories at our Kilmalid Campus in Dumbarton. The site produces over 20 million cases of flagship brands every year such as Beefeater, Glen Livet, Chivas and Ballantine’s, the focus on quality is paramount. The Site Services team supporting operations in achieving required performance levels of plant and site services equipment to meet business continuity, statutory compliance and stakeholder expectations. Your unique contribution The Engineering Site Services Manager provide technical leadership and governance for Engineering Services at the Kilmalid site, ensuring safe, compliant, and reliable plant, utilities, and site services that support business continuity and operational performance. The role provides direct line management to a small specialist site services team and governance of a large contractor base. It is accountable for asset care and reliability strategy, maintenance governance, statutory compliance, facilities oversight, and cost control. The Engineering Site Services Manager acts as technical authority for site services and infrastructure, embedding engineering best practice, reducing preventable unplanned losses, and assuring lifecycle integrity of critical assets. You will have the following main areas of responsibility: Engineering Leadership & Governance Provide clear and effective line management for the site services engineering team, setting priorities, expectations, and standards aligned to safety, compliance, and operational requirements. Coach, develop, and performance manage the Team Leaders, Multi-Skilled Technicians, and Facilities and Contract Lead, building capability, accountability, and engagement. Allocate work, resources, and contractor support to ensure delivery of statutory maintenance, reactive response, and planned activity. Act as the escalation point for complex technical, people, and performance issues within the site services function. Asset Care, Reliability & Continuous Improvement Be responsible for the development and deployment of the site asset care and reliability strategy, embedding engineering best practice, autonomous maintenance principles, and loss elimination across site services and utilities. Drive sustained reductions in preventable unplanned losses through robust KPI management, trend analysis, and structured root cause investigation. Build capability within the site services team through focused coaching, technical guidance, and expectation setting. Lead targeted continuous improvement initiatives to enhance asset integrity, performance, and lifecycle value. Maintenance Strategy & Execution Oversight Define and govern maintenance strategies and plans that balance production demand, asset risk, statutory compliance, and cost efficiency. Oversee the effective execution of planned, reactive, and corrective maintenance through internal teams and external contractors. Ensure maintenance systems, service records, and engineering procedures are current, compliant, and consistently applied. Asset Strategy, Lifecycle Management & Investment Governance Be responsible for identification and prioritisation of asset replacement, upgrade, and obsolescence risks, for site services developing medium- and long-term asset strategies aligned to business objectives, sustainability, and reliability performance. Act as technical authority for site services and infrastructure assets, ensuring solutions are fit for purpose, compliant, and aligned to lifecycle standards. Provide technical input into asset investment proposals, User Requirement Briefs (URBs), and functional specifications, supporting governance and approval through CAPEX SteerCo and delivery teams. Support CAPEX delivery teams through technical assurance, design review, and operational readiness input, without direct budget accountability. Contractor, Supplier & Commercial Management Provide governance and performance oversight of suppliers and contractors, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and commercial expectations. Own and control the site services operating budget, including maintenance, reactive works, continuous improvement, and contractor spend. Ensure effective control of contractor activity through permits, LOTO, SSOW, and CDM compliance. Safety, Quality & Regulatory Compliance Own and govern engineering compliance for site services with all statutory, safety, quality, environmental, and insurance requirements. Lead engineering input into safety incidents and investigations, ensuring timely identification of root causes and implementation of corrective and preventative actions. Be responsible for technical responses to internal and external audits (HSE, LRQA, Zurich, SFS, Local Authority, SEPA, Environmental Agency), ensuring findings are closed out and standards maintained. Proactively identify safety and compliance risks across site services and implement effective mitigation measures. Business Continuity, Incidents & Stakeholder Support Provide technical leadership during site incidents, breakdowns, and emergencies, ensuring rapid escalation, root cause analysis, and recovery actions to protect business continuity. Act as a key technical interface with site leadership, operations, security, quality, and project teams to support operational and strategic objectives. Lead technical solutions for site security systems, including access control, cameras, and supporting infrastructure. Facilities, Fleet & Soft Services Oversight Set and maintain site office and facilities standards, including coordination of communications, visitor management, and events. Provide governance and technical oversight for soft services delivery, including catering, cleaning, security, reception, IT/network interfaces. Support fleet management compliance requirements across sites. Systems & Data Management Ensure effective use of the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to manage compliance, asset performance, technician productivity, and reporting. Use data and insight to inform prioritisation, risk management, and continuous improvement activity. Who you’ll be working with Internally, you’ll collaborate with the wider Engineering team as well as other areas of Bottling & Blending, including Continuous Improvement, Supply Chain, Bottling, Vatting, Quality and Health and Safety. Externally, you will collaborate with contractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure delivery of services to the highest standard. You will also collaborate and maintain appropriate relationships with external regulatory and professional bodies, trade associations, emergency services and local authorities. Your blend of talent This position could be right for you if you: Are degree qualified (BSc/BEng) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering, or equivalent experience, with strong technical knowledge across mechanical, electrical, civil, electronic, and building services disciplines. Have extensive experience in engineering leadership roles within fast-paced, high-volume operational environments, with proven experience governing large contractor populations and complex site activities. Have strong working knowledge of permits, LOTO, SSOW, CDM regulations, incident investigation, and audit processes. Are competent in the use of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and other business systems. Hold IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent), with knowledge of contractor accreditation schemes (e.g. CSCS)Top of FormBottom of Form.
