The Role
As Despatch Team Leader, you’ll play a key role within the Warehousing & Logistics Team, supporting the Warehouse Supervisor and ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant handling, storage, and movement of materials across the company’s facilities.
This is a hands-on, varied position where you will be involved in all aspects of warehouse operations, including lifting, loading/unloading, stock control, and supporting wider logistics activities.
Key Responsibilities

Support the Warehouse Supervisor in the daily operation of warehouse activities, maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

Supervise and coordinate warehouse tasks, ensuring compliance with company and client standards.
*
Handle, store, and transport materials safely and efficiently.
*
Carry out daily equipment checks and complete inspection documentation.
*
Maintain stock control systems and assist with dispatch and delivery documentation.
*
Operate forklifts and other plant equipment safely and professionally.
*
Support lifting and logistics operations, including plant movement and material preparation.
*
Maintain clear communication with Supervisors, Management, and Clients.
*
Promote a positive, safe, and team-focused working environment.
*
Complete management reports, maintenance logs, and documentation as required.
Requirements
*
Previous warehouse or logistics experience within an industrial environment (essential).
*
Leadership capabilities with the ability to support and coordinate team members.
*
Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence (essential).
*
Good communication and organisational skills.
*
Proactive, motivated, and flexible approach to work.
*
Strong awareness of health and safety standards.
*
Physically capable of carrying out manual handling duties.
*
Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
*
Understanding of LOLER, PUWER, and general HSE legislation.
*
Knowledge of warehouse systems, stock control, and documentation.
*
Experience supporting HGV and logistics operations (advantageous).
*
IT literate with ability to complete reports and logs accurately.
*
Willingness to undertake additional training (e.g. First Aid, Fire Warden, Banksman, or Rigger).
Package & Benefits
*
Salary £26,445.12 + overtime pay.
*
Standard working hours: Monday–Thursday 08:00–16:30 / Friday 08:00–15:15.
