Job Description:
We are looking for a Technical Support Engineer (Linux) to join our Support Organisation at Squiz. The ideal candidate will have a background in technical support or deployments, with a proactive approach and enthusiasm for problem-solving to resolve complex technical issues while maintaining good customer focus.
Requirements include:
* 3-5 years of troubleshooting skills on Linux-based systems
* Autonomy in fault finding
* Experience working with major or critical incidents
Preferred technologies:
* Linux (preferably Fedora/EL flavors)
* Revision/Configuration Control (SVN, Puppet4, Git/Gitlab)
* Server Monitoring (Nagios, Grafana, Thousand Eyes)
* Networking (DNS, Firewalls, Routing)
Nice to have:
* Cloud deployments
* AWS
* Docker
* Terraform
* Cloudflare
Responsibilities include:
* Resolving technical issues for customers
* Building, installing, and maintaining infrastructure, servers, and virtual machines
* Troubleshooting and root cause analysis
* Collaborating with the product team on system migrations to SaaS
* Maintaining servers in AWS
* Suggesting improvements to support processes
Additional notes:
* Passing a police check and/or security clearance may be required.
* Location: Edinburgh, with the ability to access the office 1-2 times per week.
* Willingness to work as part of an on-call rota is expected.
