The Injured Jockeys Fund is a charity whose vision and mission is to improve the lives of injured jockeys, past and present, and their dependents, by providing immediate and ongoing help and support, whether it be physical, emotional, financial, or pastoral.??

Oaksey House is a state-of-the-art rehabilitation and fitness centre operated by the Injured Jockeys Fund. It serves as a vital hub for the Lambourn racing community, offering physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, gym facilities, and residential support for injured jockeys and other beneficiaries. The centre is known for its welcoming, community-focused atmosphere and commitment to excellence in care and performance.

The Facilities Caretaker plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, comfort and well-being of residents and visitors to Oaksey House. This is a hands-on role that requires a proactive and organised individual who can manage the day-to-day operation of the residential facilities, maintenance of the building, and support the wider team to deliver the high standards of care and aesthetics that Oaksey House is known for.

Salary: £25,000 per annum, plus 3-bedroom on-site accommodation – this role will require the successful candidate to live in.

Working hours: 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday including opening and locking up of the building and coordination of the emergency out of hours alarm responses.

Overview of principal duties and responsibilities

Support the General Manager to maintain the general appearance of the Oaksey House site, ensuring that high standards are maintained throughout and that all required regulatory standards are met.

Act as the main out of hours contact for residents staying at Oaksey House and for any emergency alarm response, including the pool, ice bath, red cord, fire, and intruder.

Carry out small maintenance DIY tasks.

Ensure that the buildings and activities on-site meet health and safety requirements.
