Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.</p><h3>Base pay range</h3><p>We are seeking an experienced and proactive Learning & Development Manager to design, deliver, and continuously improve learning activity across RVG. This role is central to building organisational and people capability, shaping development pathways, and embedding a culture of growth, performance, and talent retention. You will work closely with teams, managers, and key stakeholders to understand capability needs, design effective learning solutions, and lead impactful L&D initiatives that directly support business performance. This is an exciting opportunity for an L&D professional who thrives on impact, collaboration, and creating future‑ready talent programmes. This role is ideally full time; however, we would also consider candidates wishing to work 4 days per week.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><h3>Business Partnering</h3><ul><li>Provide strong business partnering support, advice, and guidance on all L&D matters.</li><li>Work collaboratively with teams, managers, and stakeholders to support capability and skill development across RVG.</li><li>Lead new L&D‑related projects aligned to organisational priorities and objectives.</li><li>Develop, review, and maintain L&D policies and procedures.</li><li>Support the induction process for new starters.</li><li>Manage relationships with external partners, suppliers, and consultants.</li></ul><h3>Learning & Development</h3><ul><li>Lead L&D projects and initiatives that support organisational capability.</li><li>Promote and embed a coaching and mentoring culture.</li><li>Partner with the Head of HR in the annual Talent Review process.</li><li>Support the creation of individual development plans and succession plans for high‑potential employees.</li></ul><h3>Training & Development</h3><ul><li>Assess capability and training needs across teams and departments.</li><li>Design and deliver high‑quality training programmes (induction, leadership, personal development, and more).</li><li>Coordinate training schedules, venues, logistics, and attendance.</li><li>Select and manage external training providers as needed.</li><li>Develop and maintain the Annual Company Training Plan.</li><li>Evaluate L&D interventions, reporting on effectiveness, KPIs, and return on investment.</li></ul><h3>Compliance & LMS</h3><ul><li>Oversee all compliance learning and completion rates via the Learning Management System.</li><li>Maintain the Compliance Matrix and ensure annual reviews with stakeholders.</li><li>Fully own the management and upkeep of the LMS.</li><li>Design, develop, or procure digital learning content to meet business needs.</li></ul><h3>Talent Pathways & Career Development</h3><ul><li>Advise on professional and academic qualification pathways.</li><li>Develop and implement a Skills & Competency Framework for all roles.</li><li>Build clear career pathways for key roles across RVG.</li><li>Continuously refine and improve the induction and onboarding journey.</li><li>Own and maximise use of the Apprenticeship Levy.</li></ul><h3>Reporting & Budget</h3><ul><li>Produce monthly compliance reports and quarterly L&D KPIs for the board.</li><li>Support the Director of People & Change in planning and managing the training budget.</li></ul><h3>Experience & Attributes</h3><h3>Attributes</h3><ul><li>Exceptional organisational, planning, and communication skills.</li><li>A proactive, supportive team player with strong stakeholder management skills.</li><li>Customer‑focused with excellent problem‑solving capability.</li><li>Discreet, diplomatic, and able to maintain confidentiality at all times.</li><li>Confident working autonomously or collaboratively.</li><li>Skilled at building credibility and delivering practical, impactful solutions.</li></ul><h3>Experience</h3><ul><li>4‑6 years experience in Learning & Development.</li><li>Proven experience developing teams, managers, and talent pathways.</li><li>Experience across both large organisations and SMEs, with an understanding of scalability and agility.</li><li>Strong knowledge of MS Office and LMS platforms.</li><li>A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, with the ability to travel across the UK as required (business mileage reimbursed).</li></ul><h3>Why Join Us?</h3><p>You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our people development culture and ensuring our teams have the skills, knowledge, and support they need to grow.
