Data Center Engineering Operations Engineer, AWS Infrastructure Operations

We support all AWS data centers, including servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment, ensuring our customers have continual access to innovation. You will join a diverse team comprising software, hardware, network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other roles. Key job responsibilities
* Supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance
* Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment
* Perform root cause analysis for operational issues
* Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLA
* Ensure all personnel on-site follow safety protocols
* Work on-call and rotating schedules as needed
* Take daily operational readings and report metrics to senior engineers
* Support basic concepts such as ticketing systems, root cause analysis, and task prioritization
* Perform shift duties as required
A day in the life
The Data Center Engineering Technician ensures the operation and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the data center, supporting mission-critical servers with uptime better than 99.999%. The role involves maintaining high reliability and performance while minimizing operating costs.

Minimum Requirements
* 2+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
* 2+ years in a Data Center or Mission Critical Environment
* Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
Educational qualifications:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or relevant field
* 4+ years of Data Center operations or facilities experience
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and technical writing
* Operating engineering licenses such as DC II, DC III
