As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents. You will also: Carry out OT assessments to identify patient needs, before planning and delivering the appropriate interventions on either an individual or group basis. Manage and coordinate individual OT treatment plans, facilitate groups, and oversee the unit programmes. Compose OT reports and attend multidisciplinary meetings. Work as a key member of the multidisciplinary team for patient care and treatment. Deliver supervision to Therapy Assistants where appropriate. The post holder will be qualified and registered with HCPC with Specialist skill and experience of working with brain injuries in a mixture of physical, sensory, cognitive, emotional & psychological difficulties, e.g., prolonged disorders of consciousness, acute and long-term tracheostomy and ventilated dependency, although full training will be provided.
