Overview
We are looking for a Newly Qualified Occupational Therapist to join our in‑house clinical team at Brookthorpe Hall School. Working collaboratively with the education team, you will deliver bespoke OT assessment and intervention to pupils who may have developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs using the OFG Occupational Therapy Ways of Working.
Responsibilities
* Hold an OT caseload within the school setting and provide individual and group OT sessions.
* Deliver assessment, formulation and treatment plans aligned with the OFG standards.
* Contribute to staff training, consultation and multidisciplinary team meetings.
* Support pupils, families and carers through continuous professional development and information governance.
Qualifications
* BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy
* Registered member of RCOT and HCPC registered
* Relevant experience as a student OT or in a previously held OT role
* Experience working with learning difficulty, neurodiversity or SEMH needs
* Good communication, relationship, analytical and judgemental skills
* Strong time‑management and organisational skills
* Understanding of behaviour‑communication link and basic assessment of physical, dexterity, coordination and sensory skills
* Basic IT skills and knowledge of information governance and confidentiality
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and demonstrate continuous professional development
Desirable
* Experience in multi‑disciplinary working across settings
* Experience communicating with families, relatives and carers
* Knowledge of legislation relevant to OT practice
* Experience with a range of OT assessment tools, intervention programmes and formulation of treatment plans from varied OT modalities
