Qualified Social Worker - Support and Protect

Pertemps Profession Recruitment is seeking experienced and passionate Qualified Social Workers to join a dedicated Support and Protect team. As part of this Authority’s Support and Protect service, you will work in a busy, supportive team assessing and working with vulnerable children and their families, intervening where children need support to provide earlier help. Child protection and court experience are essential.
The service maintains a strong link with our Integrated Prevention and Earliest Help colleagues to promote community support for children and families when social care involvement is no longer required. Successful candidates must be able to attend the locality for 3 days in the area, 2 days working from home, with a schedule of 5 days every 5 weeks, including a duty week where you are required to be in every day.
Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, you will support the delivery of person-centred, safe, and effective social care services. Using your professional knowledge and experience, you will make assessments and decisions about appropriate interventions. Applying your significant Social Work experience and excellent communication skills, you will establish and maintain relationships with service users and other agencies to ensure services meet identified needs.
You will be committed to ensuring positive and sustainable outcomes for your interventions. Using best practices, you will strive to provide the best outcomes for children. Most importantly, you will have a passion for supporting children and their families to thrive and flourish. Our priority is to protect the most vulnerable and to operate as efficiently as possible.
Ideal Candidate:
* Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
* SW, CSS, DipSW, or Social Work Degree; creative, flexible, and forward-thinking
* Experience working in a Social Services Directorate or other statutory or voluntary agency
* Constantly striving for improvement to provide the best outcomes
* Excellent mediation and negotiation skills
* Experience working with diverse client groups within an agency
* Skilled in building meaningful relationships with children and families
* Committed to high-quality service delivery
* Experience in multi-disciplinary, interagency work
* Knowledge of legislation related to social work practice
* 4+ years qualified
Role Responsibilities:
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of risks, protection, and social care needs
* Manage an agreed caseload
* Utilize specialist communication skills to achieve outcomes
* Develop individual care plans respecting diversity, dignity, and empowerment
* Support and advise unqualified staff and students
