General Summary
This position reports to the Head of Composite Design or their designee, is located in Maranello, Italy, and collaborates in planning and strategy of component development and race introduction.
Key Responsibilities
* Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.
* Design and development of F1 Car components.
* Seek continuous improvement in the design of components with prime focus on car performance.
* Contribute to composite design group workload plans in consultation with business partners.
* Contribute to concept development in relation to composite design.
* Liaise with Race Team concerning reliability and relevant composite design revisions.
* Perform necessary research and development functions.
* Follow all safety regulations in all venues.
* Other duties as assigned by the Head of Composite Design or their designee.
Education and Work Experience
* GCSE, High School diploma or equivalent required.
* Further education including Mechanical Engineering University Degree desired.
* 5 years of work experience, which must be in a professional motorsports environment with design experiences.
* Some FEA experience is also a plus.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
* Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
* Have an excellent understanding of English language.
* Strong technical background in racing car.
* Excellent organization and ability to manage multiple projects.
* Ability to lead composite design projects from concept to completion.
* Prioritizes and pursues vehicle performance.
* Knowledge of composite and machine shop production processes.
* Work to a consistently high standard in stressful and time‑sensitive situations.
* Quick decision‑making skills whilst working through problems in a scientific and analytical way.
* Work well within a team environment with personnel at all levels.
* A sympathetic approach to work colleagues and an ability to integrate within a group environment.
* A can‑do positive approach and a willingness to help others is essential.

* Computing and basic hand tools.
* CATIA 3DX.
* Microsoft Office Suite.
Work Environment Physical Demands
An ability to work and prioritize within a high‑pressure, time‑sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role may require some domestic, international travel and a willingness to work long and flexible hours including weekends.
This position may require lifting to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast‑paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. Work environment includes machinery, race cars, 7‑post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids. All employees must ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation.
