The Summer Schools Assistant will play a vital support role in the successful delivery of the Super Power Agency’s Summer 2026 Writing Programme.
£13.45 per hour – 140 hours total.
The Super Power Agency (SC046550) is a Scottish charity founded in 2016. Our mission is to engage and re‑engage disadvantaged and under‑resourced young people aged 8‑18 through a range of creative writing workshops, interdisciplinary programming, and mentoring. Our programmes provide opportunities for students to explore the potential of the written word all while fostering aspiration, creativity and strengthening valuable writing skills, skills that will help them in the classroom, in employment, and in life.
This is an entry‑level role, ideal for someone interested in arts administration, education, youth work or creative programmes. Working closely with the Programme Manager and Programme Coordinator, the Assistant will support programme preparation, day‑to‑day delivery at the Summer Schools, and post‑programme wrap‑up and reporting.
Primary Responsibilities
* Preparing workshop materials, ordering and organising resources, writing name labels and preparing participant packs, organising registration details.
Summer School Support
* Assisting facilitators during sessions.
* Helping organise lunches and materials each day.
* Supporting general set‑up and end‑of‑day clean‑up.
* Taking photographs for reporting and promotion.
Post‑Programme Support
* Organising photos and documentation.
* Assisting with basic reporting and evaluation.
Schedule
Preparation (June 2026) – 14 hours total, delivered over 2 days in the office in Edinburgh, 10 am – 5 pm. Activities: supporting preparation of resources (printing, cutting, ordering materials, writing name labels, creating trackers and general admin ahead of delivery).
Summer School Delivery (July–August 2026) – 112 hours total across delivery weeks. The Assistant must be available on the following dates:
Week 1: Mon 6 – Thu 9 July 2026 – Creative Story Writing (Glasgow)
Week 2: Mon 13 – Fri 17 July 2026 – Screenwriting (Glasgow)
Week 3: Mon 20 – Thu 23 July 2026 – Creative Story Writing (Edinburgh)
Week 4: Mon 3 – Wed 5 Aug 2026 – Arts Journalism (Edinburgh)
7 hours per day.
Reporting (August 2026) – 14 hours total, delivered over 2 days in the office in Edinburgh, 10 am – 5 pm. Activities: supporting photo organisation and basic evaluation.
