Geoenvironmental Consultant
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000
An established and growing multi-disciplinary consultancy is looking to recruit a Geoenvironmental Consultant to join their Sheffield team. This is an excellent opportunity for a consultant looking to develop their technical expertise while working on a wide range of brownfield and infrastructure projects.
The Role
You will be involved in delivering geoenvironmental and site investigation projects from initial assessment through to remediation and reporting. The role offers a strong mix of site work, technical reporting, and client interaction.
Key responsibilities include:
Undertaking and managing Phase 1 Desk Studies and Phase 2 Site Investigations
Logging soil and rock in accordance with UK standards
Supervising ground investigations and liaising with subcontractors
Conducting contaminated land risk assessments (human health and controlled waters)
Preparing factual and interpretative reports
Assisting with remediation strategies and verification works
Slope stability assessments
Coal Mining risk assessments
Supporting project delivery to meet time and budget constraints
Requirements
Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Geotechnical Engineering, or related discipline
1-4 years' experience in a geoenvironmental or ground investigation role
Good understanding of contaminated land legislation and guidance (e.g. CLR11)
Experience in site work and report writing
Full UK driving licence
Strong communication and organisational skills
