We are looking for an experienced and passionate Team Leader to join a children’s residential home in Chesterfield. You will play a key role in leading staff, providing therapeutic care, and ensuring high-quality support for young people with complex needs. This is a hands-on leadership role, combining direct work with young people and mentoring/supporting staff. You will champion trauma-informed practice, using approaches such as PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) and DDP (Dyadic Developmental Practice). Key Responsibilities * Provide visible, supportive leadership for the staff team * Mentor and guide staff to deliver consistent, high-quality care * Support young people through crisis and emotional regulation * Lead on safeguarding, risk management, and reflective practice * Coordinate rotas, audits, and daily operations alongside managers * Build strong professional relationships with external agencies and families Requirements * Experience working with children/young people with trauma or behavioural needs * Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and support staff * Knowledge of trauma-informed care, attachment theory, and therapeutic practice * NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Children & Young People (minimum) – Level 5 desirable * Resilient, flexible, and empathetic approach What We Offer * Competitive salary (up to £30,000 DOE) * Sleep-in allowance: £50 per night * Comprehensive induction and therapeutic training * Funded leadership qualifications and CPD opportunities * Career progression in a growing organisation * Supportive team culture with reflective practice Apply today to become a Team Leader in our Chesterfield children’s home and make a lasting difference in the lives of young people
