Head of Marketing – Wholesale
Cox Automotive Europe ¦ Leeds - Hybrid (Travel Required)
Shape the future of automotive. Lead marketing that truly moves the market.
At Cox Automotive, we're not just part of the automotive industry — we're redefining it. As the world's largest automotive services organisation, our mission is to transform the way vehicles are bought, sold, owned, and used.
Across Europe, we bring together a powerful ecosystem of market‑leading brands and platforms — from OEM partnerships and fleet solutions to remarketing, logistics, retail software, and funding. Everything under one roof. One connected vision. One opportunity to make a lasting impact.
Now, we're looking for a Head of Marketing to lead our UK Wholesale Marketing function — a role with real visibility, influence, and commercial impact.
Why this role?
This is not a traditional marketing leadership role. It's an opportunity to:
* Own and elevate one of the most dynamic parts of our business
* Bring the energy, excitement, and commercial value of the Manheim marketplace to life
* Lead through creativity, data, digital excellence, and influence
* Step into (or further establish) a Head of Marketing position within a complex, market‑leading organisation
You'll sit at the intersection of brand storytelling, performance marketing, live experiences, and commercial growth — shaping how customers engage with our auctions, platforms, and logistics solutions every day.
About the team
You'll be part of Enterprise Marketing + Communications, our shared services powerhouse at the heart of Cox Automotive Europe.
This is a team where:
* Creativity is encouraged — and expected
* Marketing is seen as a growth driver, not a support function
* Customer insight fuels everything we do
* Collaboration sparks momentum and results
We're bold, curious, customer‑led, and relentlessly focused on improving how we show up in the market.
The role
You'll lead the marketing strategy for our Wholesale business in the UK, with responsibility for driving demand, engagement, loyalty, and revenue across auctions, logistics, and digital platforms.
You'll balance brand‑building and storytelling with performance‑driven digital marketing, using events, auctions, CRM, lifecycle marketing, and platforms like Movex to deliver measurable commercial outcomes.
This role is ideal for a high‑potential senior marketer ready to step fully into a Head of Marketing position — or an experienced leader looking for broader impact and visibility.
What you'll do
* Shape and deliver the end‑to‑end Wholesale marketing strategy, aligned to growth and commercial priorities
* Bring the Manheim brand and auction experience to life through standout campaigns, content, and storytelling
* Use live auctions, events, and customer experiences as a core part of the marketing mix
* Lead a programme of customer events, working closely with Sales and Operations to deepen relationships and increase revenue
* Drive growth and adoption of Movex through best‑in‑class digital, CRM, and lifecycle marketing
* Balance long‑term brand building with performance marketing and demand generation
* Partner closely with Sales, Product, Operations, and Commercial teams to ensure joined‑up execution
* Lead, inspire, and develop a small, high‑performing marketing team
* Ensure all marketing activity is measurable, relevant, and continuously improving
Who we're looking for
You're a commercially minded, creatively driven marketer who thrives in fast‑paced, platform‑led environments and knows how to turn insight into impact.
You'll bring:
* Strong experience in B2B, marketplace, or services‑led marketing
* A natural talent for storytelling, campaigns, and brand narrative
* Deep digital marketing expertise — CRM, lifecycle, performance channels, optimisation
* Experience launching or scaling platforms or products in commercial environments
* Confidence working cross‑functionally and influencing senior stakeholders
* Excellent communication skills — clear, credible, and compelling
* Solid understanding of budget management, forecasting, and ROI
* Willingness to travel regularly across the UK to stay connected to the business
Most importantly, you'll bring energy, curiosity, and ambition — embodying the values and culture of Cox Automotive while leaving your mark on a market‑leading brand.
Why Cox Automotive?
Because here, marketing matters.
Because your ideas will shape the industry, not just campaigns.
Because this is a role with real scale, visibility, and momentum.
If you're ready to lead marketing that truly moves the wholesale market — we'd love to hear from you.
