Job overview

To act as Personal Assistant to members of the Women and Children’s Senior Leadership Team, liaising with various levels of personnel including operational staff, managers, matrons, clinical director and senior clinicians.

This post is offered as12‑month Maternity Leave Coverand provides administrative and organisational support to ensure the effective running of the Senior Leadership Team.

The post holder will be expected to work accurately under pressure, with the ability to manage and prioritise own workload. The role involves providing and receiving complex, sensitive or contentious information, requiring tact, diplomacy and persuasive skills.


Main duties of the job

* To provide an efficient and confidential secretarial/administrative service to the Women and Children's Senior Leadership Team in a specific service area.
* To take accurate formal minutes, track actions and ensure documentation is updated accordingly.
* The role provides confidential administrative support to the senior nursing team in Women and Children’s services.
* It involves managing diaries, organising meetings, preparing papers and taking accurate minutes.
* The post holder will keep office systems running smoothly, maintain personnel files and ensure training and appraisal records are up to date.
* They will handle sensitive information with care, work independently in a busy environment and prioritise tasks as demands change.
* The role also includes managing emails, documents and shared drives, supporting day-to-day office needs and using initiative to solve problems when required.

Our Service will relocate to The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital in 2028 as part of HTP. This move will bring specialist services together in a modern, purpose‑built facility to improve patient care and team experience.

We are actively recruiting, and successful candidates will be expected to move with the Service in early 2028. The relocation will follow a formal management of change process, including full consultation and support for staff.
