Overview
Are you a caring registered mental health nurse looking to work in an acute male patient setting? Harbour Ward within St Ann’s Hospital, Poole, is a 16‑bedded male treatment ward that provides a high level of treatment and care for a wide range of mental health illnesses for people aged 18 to 64.
We use a range of interventions to ensure best practice and provide excellent care at all times. The multi‑disciplinary team is friendly, supportive and promotes a calm and therapeutic approach enabling patients to move forward with their recovery.
Key Responsibilities
You will be required to undertake a Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course – completion of this is a condition of your employment. During the role you will contribute to patient care, attend multidisciplinary team meetings, support patient recovery, and participate in risk assessment and management.
Qualifications
• Registered mental health nurse with the ability to remain calm and demonstrate emotional intelligence. Newly qualified nurses are welcomed.
Compensation and Benefits
* £3,000 recruitment premium (pro rata) on commencement of employment.
* £1,500 retention premium (pro rata) per annum, paid in equal monthly instalments for those who remain in post (subject to review by the Trust).
Preceptorship and ward‑based induction are available for newly qualified professionals, with ongoing support from Clinical Team Leaders.
Shifts and Working Hours
* Long Days: 7:15 – 21:00
* Early: 7:15 – 15:15
* Late: 13:00 – 21:00
* Nights: 20:30 – 7:40
Opportunities for flexible working are available as long as service needs are met.
