Maidstone and Malling Alternative Provision is seeking a calm, welcoming and highly organised School Receptionist/ Office administator to be the first point of contact for our school community.
This is a key role within our provision, requiring a professional who understands the importance of creating a safe, supportive and well-managed environment for pupils who may have experienced barriers to mainstream education.
The role
As School Receptionist, you will:
1. Provide a friendly, professional front-of-house service to pupils, staff, parents/carers and visitors
2. Manage incoming calls, emails and visitor sign-in procedures in line with safeguarding requirements
3. Support attendance processes, including daily registers and communication with families
4. Carry out general administrative duties, including record keeping and data entry
5. Work closely with senior leaders and support staff to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the school
The successful candidate will:
6. Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
7. Remain calm, patient and professional in a busy and sometimes challenging environment
8. Be highly organised, with good IT and administrative skills
9. Understand the importance of confidentiality and safeguarding
10. Ideally have experience working in a school or similar setting (although this is not essential)
