Overview
We’re looking for an experienced and dynamic Project Manager to lead high-profile projects for UK Police clients. This is a key role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands the unique challenges of the Public Sector, and can manage complex, business-critical initiatives from concept to delivery.
About the Role
As Project Manager, you’ll work closely with engineering teams to allocate resources effectively, ensuring delivery within agreed timescales and budgets. You’ll collaborate with sales teams and customers to define project scope, structure, and objectives—ensuring every project not only meets but exceeds expectations.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the full project lifecycle for internal and client projects—scoping, planning, executing, and closing on time and within budget.
* Develop clear project plans with capacity and resource requirements.
* Identify and manage risks, issues, and changes.
* Provide regular progress reports to internal teams and clients.
* Lead and present in customer meetings, ensuring clear communication and actionable follow-ups.
* Coordinate and optimise resource use across projects.
* Maintain accurate billing tied to project milestones.
* Drive actions forward to achieve agreed deliverables.
* Produce clear reporting for project teams, business leaders, and clients.
Required Skills & Experience
* Proven track record in managing complex IT transformation projects.
* Strong stakeholder management skills, including working with senior executives.
* Ability to translate technical requirements into clear deliverables and outcomes.
* Minimum 5 years’ experience working within or alongside UK Police.
* Customer-focused mindset with experience in managed services.
* Highly organised, with excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills.
* Professional project management qualification (Prince 2, Agile, APM, PMI, etc.) or equivalent experience.
* Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Full UK driving licence and eligibility for NPPV3 SC security clearance.
Desirable
* IOSHH Managing Safely, CCNSG certification, or professional body membership.
