Responsibilities:
1. Automation and SaaS Strategy: Develop and lead the enterprise-wide automation and SaaS strategy and roadmap, aligning with engineering and business goals.
2. Architectural Design: Create scalable, secure architectures for automation platforms, including AI, workflow orchestration, and integrations.
3. Technology Governance: Select and govern automation tools, enforcing best practices and standards for the engineering team.
4. Solution Oversight: Provide technical leadership to design and implement robust, maintainable automation solutions.
5. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with business teams to identify and prioritize automation opportunities, translating needs into technical plans.
6. Margin Expansion: Lead automation initiatives that boost productivity, support key projects, and promote best practice adoption.
7. Integration Expertise: Ensure seamless integration of automation with core systems (ERP, CRM) via modern APIs and integration patterns.
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
8. Educational Background: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
9. Architectural Experience: Proven experience as a solution or enterprise architect, with a specific focus on automation, integration and SaaS technologies.
10. Automation Technology Mastery:Experience in modern automation concepts (including Agentic AI) and workflow orchestration tools.
11. Software Engineering Foundation: Strong background in software development principles, including knowledge of programming/scripting languages (, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python), APIs, and database technologies.
12. Integration Platforms: Experience with enterprise integration platforms, specifically Boomi, Azure Logic Apps.
13. Model Context Protocol: Understanding of emerging frameworks that facilitate integration between AI solutions and access external tools, data sources, and systems.
14. Cloud Platform Proficiency: Practical experience with Public Cloud, specifically Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and their Automation services (, Azure Logic Apps).
15. DevSecOps: Proven experience with relevant DevSecOps concepts and tooling, including Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), Git SCM, Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), Infrastructure-as-Code (HashiCorp Terraform).
16. Strategic Thinking:Demonstrated ability to think strategically, create long-term technical roadmaps, and communicate a clear vision to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
17. Governance and Standards: Experience creating and implementing technical governance frameworks, coding standards, and architectural design patterns.
18. Business Relationship Management: Exceptional skills supporting diverse global business stakeholders, with an emphasis on proactive/predictive engagement.
19. Industry Experience:A broad understanding of life science, covering the business model, regulatory/compliance requirements, risks and rewards. An ability to identify and execute against opportunities within machine learning that directly support life science outcomes.
20. Communication: Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical decisions and outcomes to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
