The job itself
The Headteacher & Governing Body are seeking to appoint a teaching assistant with a minimum of a NVQ 2 Certificate in Teaching and Learning Support or equivalent to cover a maternity leave. The role is part time working Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
The role can be varied and as such could entail providing one to one support for pupils with high needs, general support within the classroom and will encompass learning and pastoral support. Having the confidence to manage and support children with Special Educational Needs and disabilities is desirable, as is showing the initiative and commitment to adapting to the individual needs of children.
The successful candidate will be able to work as part of a team to provide a stable, calm, caring and supportive learning environment in which pupils can achieve. We require an enthusiastic, resilient and motivated individual with a passion for supporting pupils to achieve their full potential. You should have excellent interpersonal skills with a commitment to young people, their welfare, education and personal development. You will act as a role model to our pupils.
