What you will do: - Conduct strengths-based Care Act assessments for individuals and informal carers, evaluating their care and support needs in a timely manner. - Promote independence by enabling individuals to manage risks and enhance their capability to prevent harm. - Utilise a person-centred approach to work in partnership with clients and carers, aiming to maximise independence, wellbeing, and choice. - Apply social work principles and values consistently to guide your professional practice with respect for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion. - Gain expertise in the London Multi-Agency Adult Safeguarding Policy and work within these procedures to protect adults. - Develop skills in conducting Section 42 enquiries under the supervision of the Safeguarding Adults Manager. - Assume accountability for maintaining continuous professional development in line with Social Work England requirements. - Participate in the Duty system under the supervision of the Duty Manager, ensuring timely and effective responses to cases. - Present cases to the Quality Assurance and Monitoring Panel to facilitate the implementation of care and support plans. To excel in this role, candidates must hold a qualification in social work and possess a good understanding of key legislations such as the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005. An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is also required. Additionally, knowledge of social work models, including strengths-based practice models and an understanding of the needs of discriminated groups, is essential.
