We have an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate Financial Investigator to join our Economic Crime Team. In this fast-paced and often demanding role, you will carry out financial investigations, gathering and developing financial intelligence and evidence in order to recover assets.

We will assist colleagues and officers throughout the South Yorkshire region, carrying out confiscation, cash seizure, listed asset and frozen funds investigations and provide advice, guidance, and expertise in all areas of asset recovery. We are looking for candidates who know and understand asset recovery, money laundering and other serious and complex financial crime, including the use of conventional and covert investigative techniques. NCA Financial Investigation Accreditation, Civil Recovery in Summary Proceedings and/or Restraint and Confiscation accreditations would be an advantage, but training will be provided for the right applicant. You will be expected to attend both Crown and Magistrates courts to make applications and give evidence in support of your findings.
Responsibilities
* Carry out financial investigations, gathering and developing financial intelligence and evidence in order to recover assets.
* Assist colleagues and officers throughout the South Yorkshire region with asset recovery investigations.
* Attend Crown and Magistrates courts to make applications and give evidence in support of findings.
* Provide advice, guidance, and expertise in asset recovery and related areas.
Skills and Experience / Qualifications
* Accredited Financial Investigator with Part 5 and 8 Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) powers.
* Understanding of the court process and experience presenting evidence at court.
* Excellent report writing skills with clear and concise reporting.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Experience of working with computerised systems, including Microsoft Word, Access, Excel and the Internet.
* Must possess a full driving licence.
* Experience of conducting criminal, civil, or financial investigations.

Eligibility
Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
