Description Role: Inclusion Officer Academy: Outwood Academy City Fields Start Date: 11 May 2026 Salary (Actual Salary): £27,428 to £28,825 Working Pattern: 37 Hours Per Week, Term Time Plus Five Days Are you an expert in inclusion practice committed to ensuring every student, particularly those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), receives fully inclusive support? As the Inclusion Officer, you will ensure the academy strictly adheres to the SEND Code of Practice, leading the creation, monitoring, and review of tailored intervention plans (Wave 1, 2, and 3) to maximise the progress of vulnerable and disadvantaged students. This role involves complex administrative oversight, staff deployment, and direct student work. Responsibilities You will ensure the academy complies fully with the SEND Code of Practice, supporting the SENDCO in identifying needs and embedding inclusive interventions across the school. Key responsibilities involve arranging, developing, and monitoring effective plans such as Individual Health Care Plans and Behaviour Plans. You must ensure SEN Support Interim Reviews are robustly completed within required timeframes and monitor student outcomes quarterly. This role requires effective deployment of resources, including Teaching Assistants, and supporting the Early Help Assessment, CP, CIN, and LAC processes. You will also manage Exam Access Arrangement referrals to ensure JCQ compliance. To view the Job Description for the post please click here Qualifications Required experience includes working within a school environment and direct experience with children exhibiting vulnerabilities, SEN, and behaviour difficulties. Candidates must possess experience and understanding of safeguarding and child protection issues. Essential skills include the ability to effectively communicate, track and analyse data to identify students requiring intervention, and support the most disadvantaged to ensure full inclusive practice. An understanding of the JCQ Exam Access Arrangement procedures is required. An NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in youth/community work or a related area is desirable. A satisfactory DBS check is mandatory.
