In this role, you’ll join us as a Senior Category Operations Manager within our IT and Digital category. You’ll be part of a supportive and collaborative team culture, and work closely with a Principal Category Operations Manager and Digital Accreditation Leads. You’ll provide structure and guidance across projects, support framework development, and help drive operational excellence.
You’ll relish the challenge of managing the delivery of our frameworks throughout the lifecycle and providing high quality business partnering across the two sub-teams: Infrastructure and Digital Applications & Services (DAS). With your track record, skills, and determination, you'll deliver a highly professional and responsive client service approach, making a tangible difference to everyone touched by the healthcare system and wider public sector services.
As this is a hybrid role, you'll work remotely but travel to our Salford office once a month for team collaboration, meetings or training. There will also be the occasional travel to client sites, conferences and exhibitions.
What you'll be doing:
1. Leading the operational delivery of IT and Digital category frameworks, ensuring structure, quality and efficiency across the lifecycle.
2. Managing project and programme plans, identifying risks early and ensuring smooth delivery.
3. Embedding Digital Spend Controls into frameworks and maintaining alignment with the latest digital policies.
4. Designing reporting and MI tools to support effective team and framework performance.
5. Providing strategic guidance on tender development and supporting procurement plans through expert insight.
6. Leading and supporting a team including a PCOM, Digital Accreditation Leads and a shared pool of Category Buyers.
7. Remain up to date and aligned to the latest digital policy across government, public sector and specific policies units such as the Cabinet Office, NHE England and
8. Department for Health & Social Care (DHSC)
What you’ll bring:
9. Strong experience leading procurement or commercial delivery teams.
10. Ability to manage complex programmes and influence key stakeholders.
11. Solid understanding of public procurement regulations and digital policy and digital accreditation requirements.
12. Capability to analyse and interpret data to identify improvement opportunities.
13. A proactive approach to continuous improvement and process optimisation.
14. Experience developing and guiding team capability and supporting others’ growth.
15. Developing, maintaining, and managing professional relationships across internal and external stakeholders
16. The ability to manage complexity. Leading multiple programs and developing collaborative relationship management regimes with key NHS and public sector suppliers.
It would be great if you had:
17. Experience working within NHS, wider public sector or digital procurement environments.
