The Role
The Community Staff Nurse will deliver an accessible, culturally sensitive, high‑quality nursing service to individuals and families across all age groups within the community. Working in partnership with service users, carers, multidisciplinary teams and external agencies, the postholder will contribute to promoting health, preventing illness and supporting people to manage long‑term and complex conditions in their own homes.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
* Location: Castlemilk Health Centre
* Fixed‑Term Contract for 12 months
* Full‑time position (37 hours per week)
* Shift pattern: 4 days over 7, including backshift one per week (9 hour shift pattern) and one weekend per month
Key Responsibilities
* Utilise various clinical and environmental risk assessment tools to identify risks and implement appropriate interventions.
* Report and participate in the critical appraisal of incidents to reduce recurrences and participate in further investigations as required.
* Support patients, families and carers to achieve optimum health and independence as a member of the district nursing team.
* Plan and prioritise workload, delegate work using available resources, and make decisions to ensure patients’ needs are met.
* Work within systems to ensure continuity of a quality 24‑hour nursing service.
* Provide care of patients within a Treatment Room or Health Centre setting when required.
* Apply a systematic, flexible and innovative approach to problem‑solving where barriers exist, including financial constraints within the patient’s home, to provide a safe and effective care package.
Knowledge, Training, Qualifications and/or Experience
Essential
* Part 1 NMC Registration, or 2nd Level Registration with General Nursing Experience
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Evidence of Revalidation
* IT skills – word processing, email, internet
* Good communication skills (verbal and written)
* Ability to work on own initiative
* Leadership skills
* Problem‑solving skills
* Ability to work as part of a team

* Full driving licence
