Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our catering team.
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting meals to a high standard while ensuring food safety, hygiene, and customer satisfaction. Working closely with the Catering Manager and wider kitchen staff, you will help deliver a consistently excellent dining experience.
The Role
* Prepare and cook meals in line with menus, dietary requirements, and portion control standards.
* Maintain high levels of food hygiene, health, and safety in accordance with company policies and statutory requirements.
* Assist in menu planning, stock control, and ordering supplies to ensure efficiency and minimise waste.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide a smooth and professional catering service.
* Ensure kitchen equipment is used safely, cleaned regularly, and maintained in good working condition.
* Support the Catering Manager in implementing food service standards and improving customer experience.
* Assist in training and mentoring junior staff, promoting teamwork and best practice.

Hours of work: 37.5
Working Pattern: Monday - Friday 07:00 - 15:00

About You
* Proven experience working as a Chef in a commercial or institutional catering environment.
* Strong knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and portion control.
* Understanding of food hygiene, allergens, and health and safety requirements (Level 2 Food Safety Certificate desirable).
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing demands.
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
* A positive, proactive attitude with a commitment to delivering high-quality food and service.
