Head of Electronics and Embedded Software - Glamorgan - Ref 2016
I am currently recruiting for a Head of Electronics and Embedded Software to work for a cutting‑edge technology company based in Glamorgan.
The organisation has been in operation for many years and are worldwide leaders within the design, development, and manufacture of their highly intelligent products. As a business they have a very impressive turnover, employ around 250 people and are constantly evolving their legacy products as well as designing and developing new innovative products to bring to market.
In line with the business's expansion plans and in order for them to meet their objectives they have the need to appoint a Head of Electronics and Embedded Software on a permanent basis.
Responsibilities
In this role as a Head of Electronics and Embedded Software, you will be responsible for leading a team of 10 Embedded Software and Electronics Design Engineers. This will be a hands‑off role and your primary objective will be to get the best out of the 10 Engineers, ensuring all projects are completed to a satisfactory standard, on time and in budget, with support from the Programme team. You will also need to use your technical experience to aid with problem solving and guide the engineers through finding appropriate solutions. You will spend most of your time working on NPD/NPI projects, but you will also be expected to support existing products with regards to sustaining activities, obsolescence and cost‑reduction activities.
Essential Requirements
* Experience as a Head of Electronics and Embedded Software, Electronics Manager, Embedded Software Manager or similar
* Technical background as an Electronics Engineer, Hardware Engineer, Embedded Software Engineer, Firmware Engineer or similar
Desirable Requirements
* Experience within a highly regulated industry
