Our Music department comprises both self-employed freelance tutors and employed permanent staff. Our industry professionals are touring and session musicians, signed to major labels, actively involved in the industry while sharing their passion with students.
The Head of Year Tutor role is suited for someone with an industry background, a passion for live music and performance, and a desire to develop students' skills and knowledge. We aim to give students real industry experience, setting us apart from other institutions.

Job Requirements
* A degree in a related discipline or relevant industry experience.
* A teaching qualification or willingness to pursue one.
* A minimum of Grade C at GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
* Industry experience as a touring and/or session musician.
* Excellent ICT skills, preferably with knowledge of Google Classrooms, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Willingness to grow as an educator by enrolling for HEA Associate Fellow/Fellow status.
* Flexibility to travel occasionally to other campuses and performance venues.
Ideally, you'll have:
* Been signed to a major label or record company.
* Sufficient expertise to develop teaching programs and support learning within an HE environment.
* Knowledge of HE, with the ability to employ various delivery techniques to engage students.
Job Responsibilities
* Delivering teaching across BTEC and BA (Hons) modules in Music Performance.
* Providing academic, administrative, and pastoral support to ensure a supportive learning environment.
* Organizing rehearsals, workshops, masterclasses, and performances.
* Preparing students for assessments and performances at internal and external venues.
* Developing external industry networks and connections.
This role also involves industry and performance activities, including:
* Coordinating live music events, working with performers and sound engineers.
* Supervising technical setups and sound checks, collaborating with sound engineers.
