Who You Are You are an empathetic and proactive individual capable of connecting with children in vulnerable situations. Your ability to communicate effectively with young individuals at crucial moments is crucial to this role. A successful candidate will currently meet the requirements for police vetting and can provide a full reference document and DBS check for submission to Matrix. What the Job Involves This position is based in the Walworth and Brixton Police Custody Suites, and you will be required to work in-person, following a shift pattern. You will monitor police custody suites for any newly arrested children, meet with them, complete short screenings, and propose diversion support to prevent further arrests. Should the child and their parent consent, you will conduct 3-4 intervention sessions and direct them towards appropriate community resources and activities. Your caseload will generally involve approximately 10 or more cases, with each diversion intervention comprising 3-5 sessions. Skills Experience working with children in vulnerable situations Strong motivational and communication skills Knowledge of Mosaic recording system and Core (preferred) Ability to manage a caseload with multiple responsibilities Will complete police vetting successfully
