Most/allhomeless service users will have an assigned contact but if they're unable toattend then the officer will have to cover and support.

Day-to-day ofthe role:
1. Interview clients and undertake housing needs and homelessness assessments face-to-face withinstatutory and policy frameworks.
2. Provide advice, ongoing support, and maintain client contact.
3. Offer information on all available housing, support, and other related services.
4. Assist clients in accessing specialist support services as required (, advocacyservices, tenancy support, equipment and adaptations, city-wide alarms).
5. Produce and presentreports, including making rmendations on any aspect of the Housing Solutions Service.
6. Manage caseworkeffectively and make appropriate decisions to prevent homelessness,hospital admissions, and delayed discharges from supported and institutional amodation and care.
The role is a part-time role or 3 days.
The role is all officebased in the Sheffield city centre and is to start ASAP and is running till the end of October.
You will getapproximately 1 week of shadowing and support and then will be expected to workalone.

What you'll need to succeed
7. Good understanding ofthe housing needs of vulnerable people.
8. Homeless experiencegained within local authority/Council
9. Knowledge of housinglegislation and other laws relevant to housing advice and homelessness;experience in homelessness assessments or advice work is desirable.
10. Ability to meetdeadlines and manage a busy workload.
11. Experience in creatingand maintaining positive working relationships with staff from variousagencies.
12. Strong customer serviceexperience, including dealing with difficult customers.
13. Ability to work bothindependently and as part of a team.
