Blue Arrow are currently recruiting a school caretaker to work in the South Birmingham area at a primary school. This role will be an ongoing temporary position working split shifts.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7.30am-9.30am and 1pm-5.30pm
Pay: £13.00 per hour
Start date: Immediate
Job description:
Provide portering services, including setting up classrooms and event spaces, moving furniture, and assisting with deliveries.
Carry out general maintenance and minor repairs to buildings, fixtures, plumbing and equipment.
Liaising with contractors and escorting them around the site
Support the upkeep of the swimming pool, including water testing, routine cleaning, and assisting with plant room checks (training will be provided if required).
Carry out safety and maintenance checks on school minibuses and other site vehicles, ensuring they remain roadworthy and compliant.
Ensuring the security of the school's premises and grounds, locking at the appropriate times, closing of windows and setting of alarms. Unlocking and locking up the school site as well as individual departments. Key holding responsible.
Assisting with lettings, bookings, set up of equipment and grounds supervision of evening/weekend meetings and after school activities
Maintain outdoor areas to ensure a safe and tidy school environment - litter picking, grounds maintenance, etc
Empty bins / rubbish removal
Report any health and safety issues/ concerns to the site manager
About you:
Experience in general maintenance, caretaking, or site support work.
Previous experience maintaining health and safety records and site compliance.
Good understanding of COSHH awareness and Health and Safety knowledge
Holds an ENHANCED Child DBS in date within the last 12 months, or an ENHANCED DBS on the update service.
Must have safeguarding training - BlueArrow can provide this if required
