A fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual with 2-5 years’ pensions experience, to join a thriving pensions technology business.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to play a prominent role in expanding the Pensions Technical team and supporting new business and change initiatives for our clients.
The Pensions Technical Specialist will be required to:
* Produce detailed specifications for pension scheme calculations and/or develop those specifications.
* Assist with the development and implementation of enhanced internal policies and procedures to ensure adherence to high standards of governance.
* Review work carried out by junior members of the team ensuring standards and common practices are adhered to.
* Work efficiently with the Business Analyst and Development teams, inputting where required to ensure client deliverables are provided on time and within budget.
* Assist the sales and client management teams as required, building relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
* Attend and contribute to monthly Pensions Technical team meetings held at the Liverpool office.

Essential skills and experience
* A degree in actuarial science, mathematics, finance or similar
* Strong numerical skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel
* Strong IT skills and technical expertise, ability to adapt to new software.
* Capable of working to tight deadlines and think on their feet in a pressured environment.
* Proven team player who can adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
Desirable skills and experience
* Experience of GMP rectification and/or equalisation projects
* Experience working with pension scheme data
* Experience providing consultancy services to clients
* Communication and Influencing
* Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
* Explain technical acronyms and jargon in plain English.
* Building calculations specifications from scheme documentation
* Developing calculations in a low-code environment
Package
This role is a FTC for 6 months with a salary ranging from £40,000 - £50,000. In addition the successful candidate will also receive the usual benefits such as pension contributions, healthcare and life assurance. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
